Spring skin treatments offer an opportunity to renew and refresh your skin before the hot and humid summer months.
After a long winter, the Spring is a good time to reassess your skin goals.
Our favorite 12 spring skin treatments and assessments
1. Know your skin
Before you go out and purchase any new skin care products, have a skin assessment. Let a professional analyse your skin and give you some insight into your skin type. You need to know your skin type before purchasing any product.
2. Reassess your skin goals
After a long winter, the Spring is a good time to switch up your skin care routine. The products you use in the winter may not be what you need in the Spring. A lighter moisturiser, an SPF, good exfoliation for the face and body etc.
Sunlight, solar radiation, pollution and pollen are significantly more intense in the Spring. Clean your skin 2 times a day to remove the residue pollution leaves on the skin.
Although you should be exfoliating throughout the year, there is no better time than the Spring to get back on track with exfoliating. Give the skin all over your body the attention it deserves. Don’t forget to slough off the winter skin from your elbows, knees and feet. Have Glycolic peel to give your skin a kick start into Spring.
Spring is often the time to switch to a lighter moisturiser. If you have an oily skin use an oil-free moisturiser, if you have a dry skin use a creamier moisturiser.
6. Hyaluronic Acid
I am a big believer in Hyaluronic Acid (HA) all year round. A Hyaluronic Acid serum will trap and draw water/moisture to the skin. Continue to use an HA serum under your moisturiser in the Spring. My favorite HA serum is a Schrammek product, “Hyaluron Performance Serum”.
7. Sun protection – SPF
Often during the Winter people stop using an SPF. Spring is the time to start using your SPF again. As long as there is daylight you need sunscreen. Learn more about skin sun damage and facts about sun exposure.
8. Balance the oil
Skin changes with the seasons. The skin tends to produce more oil in the Spring and Summer. The products you use for the Spring/Summer should take this into consideration.
9. Get rid of old makeup

10. Drink more water
Spring is a good time to get into the habit of drinking more water.
11. Change your diet
Try to eat more fresh vegies and fruit. The food we eat and the way we prepare it changes in the Spring. Take advantage of the fresh fruit and vegetables that become more available in the Spring.
12. Have a Facial
A facial is a must at the change of the seasons.
