“I’m here to collect”
Over the 15 years I have been in business there have been things that have happened at MediSpa Jouvence that are often really funny, things that will make you scratch your head and other things that are simply bizarre. Occasionally I will blog about these things. Today is one of those times.
Often at the clinic clients will order their skin care products over the telephone, and they will have someone pick them up. One morning a regular client called and placed her order. The receptionist took the order and was told that her boyfriend would drop by later in the day to pick it up.
Hours later I was in one of the back treatment rooms and I heard the ring of the door, indicating someone had come into the clinic. There was soft music playing because I was doing a peel, so I could hear the conversation at the reception desk, and that is where the story begins.
A gentleman walked in, who clearly had never been to a medical spa/spa before. He walked up to the receptionist and said “I’m here to collect.” The receptionist very politely said “Yes, what it is it you are here to collect?” Again, he repeated a little more loudly, “I’m here to collect!” Again the receptionist, clearly not having any idea what he was at the clinic to collect said, “Sir, what are you here to collect?” At this point the gentleman was getting very annoyed and said “Don’t get funny with me lady I am here to collect!!!” When again she said “Sir, if you could just tell me what you are collecting I will get it for you.”
He realised he was not getting anywhere with all of this and made a call on his cell phone. He called someone and told them he was at “some women’s face cream place “collecting” and he asked the person on the other end of the phone, “What am I collecting?” By this point he is talking very, loudly on the cell phone, obviously unaware of what he is doing at MediSpa Jouvence. The person on the other end of the phone told him he was “collecting” a face cream.
The gentleman goes back to the reception counter and tells the receptionist “I am here “collecting” an f@#&*%g face cream.” I could hear him cursing and swearing he was so upset.
After I finished my peel and the client had left, the receptionist and I laughed so hard about it. It just never occurred to the receptionist he was at the clinic to “collect” the client’s bag of products, and this was his first time being sent to “collect” skin care product.
Next week’s article will be on why it is critical to maintain and service a laser on an ongoing basis.
